U.G.L.Y Now Available at Rebecca’s Books
OAKLAND, CA (April 15, 2009) – The wait is finally over! U.G.L.Y is now available at local
community bookstore Rebecca Book’s in Berkeley, CA. “We are very happy to carry Brandelyn’s
book,” said owner May Ann Braithwaite. “She has encouraged me in my bookstore and anything I can
do to help her out I will.” Rebecca’s Books is the first bookstore to carry U.G.L.Y in-store.
Rebecca’s Books will carry a small selection of U.G.L.Y priced at $21.00. “Brandelyn is such a
positive person,” added Braithwaite. “I’m sure that U.G.L.Y will have great success in the store.” The
novel follows Blair Hughes, a beautiful, intelligent and talented young woman through a series of right
and wrong turns, chance encounters and unimaginable situations that ultimately lead her to a place where
she is suddenly forced to recreate her personal definition.
“It’s that the community is embracing the book,” added Brandelyn. “Now people don’t have to wait to
buy the book online. They can go into the bookstore and actually check the book out for themselves.”
In honor of this partnership, Rebecca’s Books will host a book signing and reading with Brandelyn next
Monday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m.

About Brandelyn N. Castine
Brandelyn N. Castine is the author of Everybody Plays the Fool, a novel; Spoken Silence: Life in Four
Parts, a volume of poetry; and U.G.L.Y., a novel and currently lives in the Bay Area. As a full time
writer with a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, Brandelyn is also a contributing author in the Gumbo
for the Soul Anthology, a project that was created to raise funds to support literacy programs in the Bay
Area. In addition, Brandelyn is currently working as a freelance writer for Leather, Empress and Vapors
Magazines.
